- Applicable legislation: the Personal Data Processing Law of the Republic of Latvia, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (the Regulation), and other applicable legislation in the field of privacy and data processing.
- What is the Privacy Policy?
The Privacy Policy is the connection between LatSofa and a natural person (hereinafter also referred to as the User) who contacts LatSofa and/or uses the LatSofa website and/or the services provided by LatSofa.
LatSofa is committed to protecting the User’s personal data. The Privacy Policy enables the User to understand what information is collected when the User submits their data to LatSofa or when LatSofa obtains it in other ways, why LatSofa collects this data, and how it will be used.
The Privacy Policy also provides information on how LatSofa collects, processes, stores, deletes, and protects the User’s personal data, thereby ensuring that the User’s personal data is processed lawfully, fairly, and in a transparent manner for the User. This Policy applies to the User’s personal data, any processing of personal data of a natural person, and the services provided to the User.
If LatSofa updates this Policy, all changes will be published on the LatSofa website.
In order to provide the User with better and more suitable services, as well as to ensure, maintain, protect, and improve existing services, LatSofa processes data collected during the provision of services.
- For what purposes is the User’s data collected?
The User’s personal data and other information are collected in order to:
• offer and provide appropriate services, monitor transactions, and protect Users from unlawful or harmful direct or indirect, intentional or unintentional actions by persons when processing information and data that come into the possession of the relevant persons;

Bank details, if provided;
Data provided by the Client to LatSofa;
Information about the User’s IP address;
Cookies (website browsing data);
Other personal data, depending on the type of service provided to the Client.
This information is stored on LatSofa servers located in secure infrastructure.
When the User interacts with LatSofa services, LatSofa servers maintain a unique activity log for the User’s security, which stores certain administrative and traffic information, including:
• IP addresses;
• access times;
• access dates;
• previously visited pages;
• language used;
• software error reports according to the browser software used.
This information is important to ensure the quality of the service.
Personal information is not collected without the User’s consent.
User data will not be transferred outside the European Union or the countries of the European Economic Area. However, if such a need arises, the User’s data may only be transferred to countries that ensure the same level of personal data protection as that provided by the European Union.
- What means does LatSofa use to collect and process data?
LatSofa may automatically collect the above-mentioned data and receive personal data provided by the User when using the services or otherwise communicating and interacting with the website. LatSofa may also receive personal information from other online service providers.
LatSofa may also engage third-party service providers to provide technical support in the provision of the service. LatSofa has access to the information that the User has provided to these service providers and third-party e-commerce service providers, in compliance with all Privacy Policy provisions.
- What is the legal basis for processing Users’ personal data?
The User’s personal consent — the User, as the personal data subject, by filling in application and/or contact forms, personally gives consent to the collection and processing of personal data for specific purposes. The User also consents to data processing for direct marketing purposes in order to receive new and individual offers. This consent may, of course, be withdrawn by the User.
The User’s consent is their free will and independent decision, which may be given at any time, thereby allowing LatSofa to process personal data for the specified purposes. The User’s consent is binding if it is given directly and unambiguously. The User has the right to withdraw their previously given consent at any time using the communication channels indicated by LatSofa. The requested changes will take effect within three business days. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
Provision of services — in order for LatSofa to provide the User with high-quality services, LatSofa must collect and process certain personal data collected from the User on the LatSofa website.
Legitimate interests — taking into account LatSofa’s interests, which are based on providing high-quality services and timely support to the User, LatSofa has the right to process the User’s personal data to the extent objectively necessary and sufficient for the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy. The processing of personal data for direct marketing purposes, as a result of which the User receives new and/or individual LatSofa service offers, is considered a legitimate interest of LatSofa.
Fulfilment of legal obligations — LatSofa is entitled to process personal data in order to comply with the requirements of laws and regulations, as well as to respond to lawful requests from state and municipal authorities.
- Exceptions to the disclosure of Users’ data
LatSofa has the right to disclose personal data only in the cases provided for by laws and regulations.
